Yoga Therapy Training Retreat in Rishikesh India eligibility –

  • Yoga Therapy Training Retreat is open to everyone above 12 years age who wants to undergo any remedial approach through Yoga and above 18 years who wants to understand sound health and know the natural means to achieve this.
  • The participants above 12 years for Yoga therapy treatment must be able to follow the instructions properly and aspirants to learn Yoga therapy must be above 18 years with sufficient experience of Yoga practices as well as regularity in the disciplines of Yoga.
  • The participants above 18 years to learn Yoga therapy must have already completed 200 Hours YTTC and more importantly should have minimum 2 years of experience of Yoga either as a practitioner or a teacher which can help him understand the mechanism of healing through Yogic disciplines.
  • The participants must be able to practice discipline of Yoga such as purity, punctuality, early waking up as prescribed, participation in the daily activities and so on.
  • The participants should have good command on English language as this is the medium of education.
  • The participants must have medical fitness; physical as well as mental. In cases otherwise we must be detailed the individual limitation along with medical report.

The scheme of study – The retreat combines theoretical as well as practical aspects of Yoga as to how they are helpful to improve our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. The curriculum combines important topics of Yoga, guidelines based on lifestyle and information on application of Yoga on health issues.

Important theoretical study - Philosophy of Yoga and its meaning, Aims of Yoga, Sristi (Uinverse) according to Yoga, Human body (3 Bodies, 5 elements, 5 Kosha, Prana, Mind, 5 Sense organs and 5 Motor organs, Nadi, Chakra and Kundalini), Selected topics from Yoga Sutra to understand Yoga psychology (Antahakaran, Chitta, Antarayah, Ishwara, Aum, 5 Kleshas and 8 limbs), How to use Yoga practices on certain health conditions, Brief study regarding how to design the Yoga practices, How to practice, Ethical guidelines and Life style.

Important practices - The main practices come from Hatha Yoga which are blended with practices from Kriya Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Raja Yoga. They are –

Asana – Postures of Hatha Yoga such as preparatory movements of joints, muscles and parts of body, Standing, Supine, Prone - (backward, forward, spine twist), Inversion and Balance including those asana which are remedial in nature at their intermediate level.

Pranayama – Udar Svashan, Vaksha Svashan, Griva Svashan, Yogic Svashan, Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Nadi Shodhana, Bhramari and Ujjayi.

Mudra – Gesture of hands, fingers and body to affect energy in body.

Bandha – Practices of locking the energy in body.

Satkarma – Practices for purification of body in Yoga (Jala Neti).

Meditation - Fundamental practices of Yoga Nidra, Yogic breathing with awareness, Fundamental practices of developing awareness, Kaya asthairyam (stillness of body), Awareness of natural breath, Awareness of peace, Antarmouna (inner silence) with awareness of natural sensory responses and awareness of natural thought process, Developing awareness with mantra such as AUM and other Relevant practices of meditation for healing.

The daily schedule for Yoga Therapy Training Retreat in Rishikesh India is tentative and subject to change according to need. All classes are held for 6 days in a week.
  • 5.30am to 7am - Personal practices as suggested
  • 7am to 7.15am - Herbal tea/Drink
  • 7.30am to 9 am - Yoga Practices (those which are needed)
  • 9am to 10am - Brunch
  • 12pm to 1 pm - Fruit/fruit juice
  • 2.30pm to 3.30pm - Yoga Practices (those which are needed)
  • 4.30pm to 6pm - Yoga Practices (needed)
  • 6pm to 7pm - Dinner
  • 9pm - Bed time

How to arrive (Airports) – The New Delhi International Airport (IGI) is located around 240 Kilometres from Rishikesh and the Jolly Grant Domestic Airport Dehradun is located around 20 Kilometres from Rishikesh. From both airports the cab/car services are available to reach Rishikesh at our school. From Delhi it's around 6 hours drive and from Dehradun it's around 40 minutes drive. If you wish we may organize your journey to our school in Rishikesh at a reasonable fair.

Registration - Please Register or write to us via our email (sanatanayogsandesh@gmail.com) to check the availability of a place. It the place is available we will request you to fill in the registration form online. Then you need to make non-refundable deposit to finally be selected for the course.

Deposit - A non-refundable deposit of 300 Euro only for International, NRI participants and 20000/- INR only for Indian participants plus transaction charges/commissions is required to confirm the registration in the retreat. To pay please follow Payment.

Cancellation of the registration for the retreat - For the time being we do not provide this facility. Therefore, properly decide before you deposit the amount for the course.
